Abstract

The function of the pastor in the ministry of God's word and its influence on the spiritual growth of the congregation at GKA Hosana Trenggalek, East Java, Abdi Gusti Nganjuk Theological College.A shepherd is a person who has been called by God and specifically to be his servant. The pastor is a leader and to fulfill his duties he needs authority. In Psalm 23, the shepherd is the owner of the staff, a symbol of his authority. With the staff, he can discipline his sheep and notice one by one whether they are sick or strong. In this research, several theories are put forward regarding the function of the pastor in the ministry of God's word and its influence on the spiritual growth of the congregation, (1) the meaning of the pastor, the meaning of service, and the understanding of the word of God (2) the theological basis of the ministry of the pastor and the theology of preaching the word of God (3) the steps steps in preaching the word of God and forms of preaching (4) the influence of the word of God on the spiritual growth of the congregation which consists of the growth of the quality of the congregation and the characteristics of spiritually mature Christians. So that this research is not only theoretical, the author conducted research in the field to combine theoretical abstracts with reality in the field, so the GKA Hosanna Trenggalek, East Java, which became the research object, the research population was all members of the GKA Hosanna Trenggalek East Java congregation, while the number of studies is 100% of the population. The sample used is a limited random type of abstract sample. The results of the research show that the state of the pastor's function in the ministry of God's word and its influence on the spirituality of the congregation at GKA Hosana Trenggalek, East Java is at a frequent level. However, the author suggests the need to improve pastoral services so that the spiritual growth of the congregation continues to grow One thing that needs to be remembered in serving God, apart from the theory that a person obtains, can be applied. Involve God in preparing sermons so that through the ministry of God's word, many people repent and change to become like Christ.
