Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study examines the phenomenon of youth inactivity in the Minahasa Evangelical Christian Church (GMIM) during worship activities and formulates a Pastoral Guidance Model (KPDP) to address this issue. This issue poses a serious challenge for the church as it can erode the spiritual commitment of the younger generation. Traditional pastoral approaches, which often focus solely on worship ceremonies, are no longer adequate to address the complex issues facing today's youth. This research employed qualitative methods with a case study approach in one GMIM congregation. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with youth, parents, the youth ministry commission, and the pastor. In addition, participant observation was conducted during relevant church and non-church activities. The theoretical framework used is pastoral theology according to Tjaard Hommes.
